Wellness in Infrastructure – Leveraging wellness to address productivity

Wellness in Infrastructure (WII) will tackle one of the construction industry’s most pressing challenges – the mental health and wellbeing of its workforce. This ongoing issue affects both individuals and overall productivity, and with major projects placing increasing demands on teams across Australia, the need for action has never been more urgent. As a registered not-for-profit and Health Promotion Charity driven by dedicated volunteers from the industry, WII is committed to making a meaningful impact and fostering a healthier, more productive work environment for everyone. Grant will share insights from the organisation’s comprehensive industry research and highlight its collaborative efforts to implement proactive and positive interventions.

McConnell Dowell – New Bridgewater Bridge

McConnell Dowell will present the New Bridgewater Bridge – Tasmania’s most ambitious transport infrastructure project to date – sharing the challenges, innovations and engineering solutions behind one of the longest road bridges over water in the country.

BMD & Major Road Projects Victoria – Mickleham Road Upgrade

In this must-see session, BMD and Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) will unpack the Mickleham Road Upgrade – Stage 1, revealing how they embedded circular economy practices, used low-carbon materials, and trialled renewable diesel to raise the bar on sustainable infrastructure delivery. They will also explore the project’s strong social procurement focus – including major contracts with Indigenous-owned businesses and inclusive employment through social enterprises – demonstrating how meaningful partnerships and targeted initiatives can deliver lasting social outcomes.

Inland Rail – Driving success in major infrastructure

One of the most significant infrastructure projects ever undertaken by the Australian Government, Inland Rail is a 1,600km rail freight network connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Once complete, it will enable freight to travel between the two cities in under 24 hours. Ed will share an insider’s view of this nation-building project – from current works and lessons learned to what lies ahead.

HDR & Kapitol Group – Data centres for a connected world

Join HDR’s Kevin Miller and Kapitol’s Tim Trimble as they explore how this mission-critical infrastructure supports our rapidly growing digital economy, enabling everything from AI processing to global logistics. Using anecdotes from their combined 50 years of industry expertise and learnings from the past six years delivering projects for data centre developer NEXTDC, they’ll show how collaboration, flexible design, and advanced construction methods deliver data centres that meet current digital demand while being future-ready for tomorrow’s world.

CPB Contractors – Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East

CPB Contractors will spotlight the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project’s southern section between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley. Delivered by Suburban Connect – the powerhouse consortium of CPB Contractors, Ghella ANZ and ACCIONA Construction – the project involves constructing Victoria’s longest tunnels at 16km, 54 cross passages, two tunnel portal structures, a stabling yard, and station box excavations at Clayton and Monash.

Laing O'Rourke – Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative Facilities

1:35 – 2:25 PM

Laing O’Rourke led the delivery of the Australia–Singapore Military Training Initiative Facilities Project at Shoalwater Bay, Queensland. As Managing Contractor, the team constructed new facilities and upgraded existing infrastructure to support expanded training for the Australian Defence Force and Singapore Armed Forces. The project exceeded targets for Indigenous participation and local industry engagement. More than 80 per cent of works were awarded to regional Queensland businesses. It also set a benchmark for stakeholder collaboration and Defence infrastructure delivery. Attendees will gain first-hand insights into this impressive build, including what it took to deliver live-fire training environments and extensive civil infrastructure.

Webuild – Ceres Urea Plant

Anticipated as the largest urea plant in Australia, and one of the largest single-train ammonia plants worldwide, the Project Ceres Urea Plant is a landmark development. Located in Karratha, Western Australia, this latest-generation fertiliser plant is embracing cutting-edge technology to deliver industry firsts and economic, financial, social and environmental benefits across the country.
