National Precast throws support behind Converge 2025
National Precast – the industry body representing Australia’s precast concrete industry – has confirmed its support and participation in Converge 2025, a major new construction and infrastructure expo designed to connect the sector’s key players, ideas and innovations.
Taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17-18 September 2025, Converge brings together leaders across municipal works, civil construction and commercial building to explore the technologies and solutions shaping Australia’s infrastructure future.
For National Precast CEO Sarah Bachmann, the event offers a timely and strategic platform to elevate the role of precast concrete in sustainable, modern construction.
“Converge aligns with our mission to enhance the precast industry and create opportunities for our members, by our advocacy, growth and educational initiatives,” says Bachmann.
“The event provides a unique platform to connect with key decision-makers across the municipal works, civil construction and infrastructure sectors, which are crucial markets for many of our members.
“Converge’s focus on showcasing tools, ideas and technologies that are shaping these sectors directly supports our goal of making precast the preferred choice for sustainable construction.”

As a key Association Partner, National Precast will take part in the event’s conference program, while facilitating member engagement through onsite meetings, networking, and exposure to new technologies.
Displays of precast will be central to the event, enabling attendees to experience the practical benefits of emerging innovations firsthand.
“[Converge] will enable our members and their clients to see new solutions in action and consider how they might be applied to their own operations. Additionally, the opportunity to attend member meetings onsite will foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among our community,” says Bachmann.
As part of its display, National Precast will feature sample sections of hollowcore concrete flooring, demonstrating how this system enables more efficient use of materials and supports sustainability goals through reduced concrete volumes.
National Precast will also showcase TermoDeck, a proprietary system which leverages the thermal mass of hollowcore slabs to regulate indoor temperatures – an example of how precast supports energy-efficient heating and cooling in buildings.
This is on top of examples of total precast construction, highlighting how using precast concrete for the entire structural system – including walls, floors, stairs and columns – can significantly enhance construction efficiency, reduce on-site labour and time, and optimise material performance.
Among the key topics National Precast is hoping to see spotlighted at the event are sustainability, procurement innovation, regulatory reform and advancements in construction integration.
With its unique co-location alongside No-Dig Down Under, Converge is expected to draw a diverse audience – from Tier One contractors and asset owners to council fleet managers and emerging tech providers – making it an ideal environment for cross-sector learning and collaboration.
“We’re excited to showcase what precast can do, and to be part of the collective effort to shape the future of Australia’s built environment,” says Bachmann.
