James is the General Manager, Operations (Defence) with Laing O’Rourke’s Australia Hub. In this role, he oversees delivery of major infrastructure projects of behalf of defence sector clients, placing a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and strategic stakeholder engagement. With a career spanning 25 years across defence, aviation and commercial sectors, James leverages his in-depth experience delivering large-scale public realm and infrastructure projects and collaborates with clients to ensure their critical objectives are achieved. James played a pivotal role in the Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative, a project of strategic importance in the Northern Queensland region that demonstrates how investment in the construction industry and local supply chain can enable Defence capabilities.
